Tuesday, September 29

11:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.

Lisa Kaplin, Psy.D., PCC

Description

In this interactive session, Lisa Kaplin, Psy.D., PCC, helps participants navigate the sticky, high-stakes conversations most of us try to avoid at work and at home. Through live polls, everyday workplace scenarios, and hands-on practice, attendees examine why difficult conversations feel so hard, locate their own default style on the passive-to-assertive-to-aggressive continuum, and learn to apply the SBI (Situation, Behavior, Impact) feedback model developed by the Center for Creative Leadership. The session closes by turning insight into daily practice, with each participant identifying one small, repeatable change they can commit to right away.

Learning Objectives

  • Recognize the personal patterns and mixed feedback that make challenging conversations feel difficult and identify their own default communication style along the passive, assertive, aggressive continuum.

  • Commit to one specific, repeatable communication practice they can implement immediately to build confidence and consistency in sticky conversations.
