OPERATIONALIZE MDS DATA
Overview:
The MDS is a federally mandated tool in SNF’s that drives resident care, Medicare reimbursement, incentives, possible payment reductions, Medicaid reimbursement in some states, regulatory oversight, Quality Measures, PBJ, 5-star ratings. In this session we will discuss some best practices for harnessing the MDS data for better operational outcomes.
Learning Objectives:
• Understand basic MDS requirements including timing and types of assessments that can impact your data.
• Discuss the changes effective 10/1, how the IDT needs to prepare and for new Quality Measure triggers.
• Review the reports available in the Iqies system and how to analyze the data to make it actionable.
• Be prepared for the multiple ways the data can be reviewed/audited by outside agencies, including CMI audits, ADR’s, and survey data.
• Identify educational resources for the IDT.
