Partners in Quality legislative visits allow legislators to witness firsthand the quality care and services you provide to older adults and gives them a better understanding of industry issues. Believe it or not, there are legislators who have never been inside a senior living community and don’t know the difference in provider settings!
LeadingAge Illinois will work with yours and your legislator’s schedules to coordinate the full Legislative Visit details. A typical visit includes a tour of the community with an opportunity for residents and staff to meet and talk with your legislator. At the conclusion of the visit, your community presents a Partners in Quality plaque to the legislator, which is provided by LeadingAge Illinois.
This is your opportunity to share your concerns with the legislator on issues affecting your community, as well as the entire senior living field. In addition, the visit will continue to benefit senior living providers long after it occurs, by educating legislators so that they can make more informed decisions while in session.
Since the program began in 2006, we’ve had over 650 successful legislative visits in member communities, that’s created long-term, beneficial relationships with legislators!
