Senior Living for Solo Agers: Balancing Independence with Preparation for the Future– Ice Miller LLP
More elders than ever are joining the ranks of “solo agers” – unmarried, unpartnered, and childless adults – and many have incomplete plans for their futures. Advance Directives, POAs, Guardianships, Health Care Surrogates, and other arrangements (or a lack thereof) can present complex issues for long-term care and senior housing providers as their residents age and require more assistance managing their affairs. Join us in a discussion about the resources and strategies available to providers to 1) prioritize proactive planning upon new resident admissions; 2) implement plans and directives when residents become unable to manage their own affairs; and 3) fill in the gaps when residents have not planned ahead and already lack capacity.
1:45 pm – 2:45 pm Deposition Preparation– Panelist from Hinshaw & Culbertson and Caring Communities
3:00 pm – 4:00 pm Anatomy of an Administrative Enforcement Action– Hinshaw & Culbertson
