Updates Before Implementation – Illinois Medical Aid in Dying Law

OVERVIEW

The Illinois End-of-Life Options for Terminally Ill Patients Act (Deb’s Law) takes effect on September 12, 2026, and brings significant new compliance considerations for health care providers across the state. While providers may choose to opt out of participation in medical aid in dying, strict notice and documentation requirements still apply.

This timely webinar delivers last-minute updates and practical guidance to help health care organizations understand their responsibilities, reduce risk, and ensure readiness before the law becomes effective.

  • Explain key requirements of Deb’s Law.
  • Identify compliance obligations for health care providers who choose to opt out.
  • Apply best practices to prepare staff and systems for the effective date and ongoing compliance.
