OVERVIEW

Pharmacogenomics is reshaping medication management, and nurse leaders in long-term care are positioned to drive its adoption. This session highlights how genetic testing can optimize prescribing, reduce adverse events, and improve resident outcomes. Attendees will gain strategies to identify candidates for testing, evaluate benefits and challenges, and communicate its value across the care team.

FACULTY

Rob Leffler is the Vice President of Clinical Services for Synchrony Pharmacy, a long-term care pharmacy that serves over 30,000 residents in 19 states and Washington DC.  Rob graduated with a BS in Pharmacy from Butler University and since that time has spent the majority of his career in long-term care running pharmacies, as a consultant pharmacist, and leading clinical teams in the care of residents.  As a pharmacist, he has participated as an educator for many organizations at their live meetings and through webinars.  He is a Board-Certified Geriatric pharmacist, a Fellow of the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists and currently serves their President.
