Are You Ready for OSHA’s New ETS Requirements?
Employers subject to OSHA’s jurisdiction have a short timeframe to become compliant with most of the new Emergency Temporary Standard (ETS) requirements related to preventing the spread of COVID-19. The rules apply to all settings where employees provide health care or support services and include guidance related to physical barriers, ventilation, staff training, and paid leave requirements. LeadingAge has a new on-demand update to give you all the important information you need to act quickly and ensure employees are being provided a safe workplace free from recognized hazards. It is free for all LeadingAge members.

Update on IDPH Rules on Healthcare Workers
The Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) had extended an emergency, temporary rule for the Healthcare Worker Background Check Code, effective June 20 through June 26. The rule (no longer in effect) allowed military personnel with medical training to serve as certified nursing assistants (CNAs) in healthcare facilities; suspended normal requirements for Illinois certification of CNAs licensed in another state; and allowed CNAs with inactive status on the IDPH Health Care Worker Registry for less than five years to resume work as CNAs immediately. LeadingAge Illinois continues to meet with legislators to discuss the current workforce crisis in aging services and the need for action.
